Collier (1987) Inclusive education can function on many levels. In inclusive education the disabled student joins the general education classroom for part of the day, depending on the type and strictness of the disability. In inclusive education all students are in the general education classroom instead of the special education classroom.
Why is inclusive education important? Inclusion assumes that children with special needs are part of the regular stream and should be treated as such. Inclusion is based on Wolfensberger's principle of normalization (i. e.all persons regardless of ability should live and learn in environments as close to normal as possible).
Inclusive education is todays educational hot topics, and there are a variety of positions on inclusive education. One goal is to help staff and students gain an understanding of all groups present in the local and national communities. Inclusive education follows a rightsbased model as stated in Article 24. 2. b of the CRPD: Persons with disabilities can access an inclusive, quality and free primary education and secondary education on an equal basis with others in review than analyses the current provision of inclusive education in the Australian nongovernment school sector.
